Hardwood floor refinishing in Virginia Highlands / North Decatur Rd.

M.S. Construction was called in to refinish the existing floors in this beautiful traditional home in Virginia Highlands. The house had part original floors, part newer hardwoods, installed when an addition was put in, including a new kitchen, breakfast and family room with a master suite on the second floor. The newer floors however, were not sanded and finished properly, so the finish was starting to peel off and wear agressively in high traffic areas.

We sanded and refinished the entire main floor of the house and the stairs leading to the second floor. A custom matched stain was applied to the newer floors to match the patina and character of the original floors. Then, three coats of Duraseal oilbased satin finish were applied and new stain grade shoemolding was installed throughout the area.
