This Lawrenceville home had 16 years old carpet throughout the upstairs level. The owners were ready for an upgrade. M.S.C installed new Select Red Oak hardwood floors in all the bedrooms, closets and hallway. The floors were then sanded and stained with Minwax Ipswich Pine color, to give them a warm, cozy aspect, yet preserve the natural look of hardwood. Then, primed shoemoulding was installed along the perimeter, and three coats of Bona Satin water based finish were appplied.
Also part of this project was replacing the existing carpeted steps with solid hardwood treads and paintable raisers, to tie everything in with the upstairs. New supports and metal brackets had to be installed for each step, because the old steps had no framing, resting only inside the side boards and on the raisers.
