M.S.C was called in to refinish the floors in a 1887 traditional house in Downtown Lawrenceville. The floors are the original Red Oak floors and they were in pretty bad shape. We had to repair several spots where walls were moved. We used flooring boards removed from another room that will get carpeted. The refinishing process was lengthy and difficult due to the leveling issues of the subfloor.
The project will be completed in two stages: the future master bedroom was completed first, with the living room and study left to be done after all other remodeling work is done.
The customer chose to go with a dark stain and a semi-gloss water based finish. We applied three coats of finish and then installed white quarterround to tie everything in with the theme of the entire house.
